SOFT FICTION PROJECTS x UPHOLD: LIMITED EDITIONS RISO PRINTS ON SALE

Uphold - a not-for profit online platform promoting and selling work by contemporary artists in Northern Ireland - recenty commissioned Soft Fiction Project a series of limited editions prints in Risograph, now on sale on Uphold website

The editions are part of Making Space, a research project initiated during a month-long residency at Guest Projects London, in 2019.

Re-visiting theoretical research and publicly funded social projects developed by the Matrix Feminist Design Co-Operative, the project explores the origins of a community of women who squatted houses in the Hackney neighbourhood in the late 1970’s. This community had historical importance in providing opportunities, especially for queer women and single mothers, to live autonomously, connecting with wider feminist politics in London and taking control over their immediate build environment.
This work is part of an ongoing research project around housing, feminism and urban change in UK and Ireland.
